Speaker: Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach, CTL Graduate Fellow, Comparative Literature
CTL/OLI Seminar Room, 134 Van Pelt Library
This university-wide workshop requires advance registration.
From large lectures to small seminars, how can instructors help students engage with the material and one another in more creative, nontraditional ways? This workshop will explore and generate ideas for utilizing innovative text, art, media, and more, to facilitate discussion, inquiry, and a deeper connection with the subject matter. You will have the opportunity to develop and participate in creative in-class exercises as a group, so you can experience the ways these activities could be helpful to your students. And by the end of the workshop, you will be equipped with a few new, as well as some tried and true, creative in-class exercises to put to use in your own classrooms.
Counts toward the CTL Teaching Certificate. Also counts as a follow-up workshop for SAS participants in TA Training.
