APSC is holding "AAPI Women in Writing: Academia and Fiction." This event is meant to act as a window into the American publishing industry through the speakers’ experiences—spanning from academic texts to young adult fiction—and will allow students to view writing, authorship, and publishing through the lenses of race, gender, and identity.
The exciting guest list includes I.W. Gregorio, the bestselling YA author, urologist, and Penn alum known for her novels None of the Above and This is My Brain in Love, as well as Dr. Fariha Khan, the co-director of Penn’s very own Asian American Studies Program, or ASAM department, where she teaches and researches subjects relating to race, ethnicity, and identity, particularly regarding the Asian American experience.
